BELIEVING ON the MESSIAH,

LIVING a CHRISTIAN LIFE Bible Study
Teachings by Eileen Smith, KANSAS

Father we ask that as we study this session that you would
bring those who need your word. help us to be more like you
and help us to live our faith, in Jesus name amen

FAITH in GOD is crucial toliving the Chrsitian faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for whoever
comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Faith
becomes the foundation upon which we build a
relationship with God.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word,
and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and
does not come into judgment, but has passed out of
death into life. - John 5:24
According to this verse we must believe on the Father
who sent Jesus to obtain the promise of eternal life.
We need to have a good understanding of what it
really mens to have faith in God.

1. The word FAITH and BELIEVE are the same word.
2. To believe on Christ is the same as to believe on
God the Father.

To reject Christ is to reject the Father who sent him.
What does it really mean to believe on Christ?
Can we just beleive the bible story of Christ and then
claim the promise of eternal life?

Does faith in Christ mean just mental ascent or does it go
deeper than just surface level? it goes way beyond just an
ackknowledgment of the historical faact of Jesus life.
Faith means to believe God's words. Verse 24 Jesus said
'He that hears My words'. We must believe the scriptures
for they are the words of God to men.

After Jesus was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled
what He had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the
words that Jesus had spoken. - John 2:22

The last part of that verse says they believed the
scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. Paul
says that faith springs out of, or arises from a
hearing of the word of God.

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

Preaching is the power of God unto salvation of them that
believe. Blesssed are they who hear the word of God & keep it.

JESUS said, Blessed rather are those who hear
the word of God and obey it

Believing is also obeying the word which we believe.
Faith is a force that move to action, but a faith without
works is also dead. Faith by itself, if it is not
accompanied by action, is dead. - James 2:17

We must remember one thing here, salvaion is NOT
dependent on works. Works will not save us. Our
salvation is dependent on our faith and saving
knowledge of Jesus Christ. Some believe, but they do
nothing. Their belief is like the belief of the devils,
they merely acknowledge a historical fact. Faith is also
trust. Trust is reliance or resting, in another person.
Trust in God will tell us lthat he knows better than we
do what is best for us. Trust in God also assures us
that God can bring it to pass. Faith is also faithfulness.
The very nature of faith calls for faithfulness.
Faithfulness is what Jesus is looking for in His bride
He is returning for. We will have trials, persecutions,
and difficut times to try our faith. Some will use these
as an excuse to abandon the faith. But Jesus is coming
back for those who are faithful to endure the trials and
keep watching for his return.

The JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

Clearly no one is justified before God by the law,
because, "The righteous will live by faith."
 Galations 3:11
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight
of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

The just shall live by faith. The just must never turn
back to trusting in himself. The quickening power of
faith is presnt in joy and sorrow, wealth and poverty,
strength and weakness and in life and death.
This verse gives us the assurance that faith
in Christ will sustain and keep us all of our lives.

SALVATION, the GIFT of GOD

By grace you have been saved, through faith, not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God, NOT by WORKS, so that no one
can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-10

Salvation is the gift of God. We do not deserve salvation and no
works of our can ever earn it. It is the fatal mistake of man to
do works and penance with the understanding that through them we
can earn salvation. Faith in Christ reaches out to receive the
gift of God. Faith is not works that earn salvatioon.
For it is by grace through faith that we receive salvation.
Works is a by product of our faith in Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father Thank You for all those who hear. Open our eyes
and ears to your work. Bless each one and cover them with your
precious blood. in Jesus name, amen

Is Believe in Christ and believe on christ different?

You believe that there is ONE God. Good! Even the demons believe
that and shudder.  You believe that God is one. You do well;
the demons also believe, and shudder. - James 2:19
Yes there ARE different types of 'believe' Our faith trusts and
relys on Jesus in all situations, and OBEYS Him.
Believing in and beliving on are used interchangeably

JESUS said,
"When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only,
but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the
one who sent me. - John 12:44-45

JESUS CHRIST the SAME * YESTERDAY * TODAY * FOREVER!

LIVING a SPIRITUAL LIFE
A CARNAL vs SPIRITUAL LIFE
Heavenly Father, I ask your blessings on this lesson. May it be used for your glory, and help someone as it goes out to others. In Jesus name we ask this amen CARNAL vs SPIRITUAL LIFE We cannot live the Christian live according to the carnal desires of the flesh. 'Carnal means pertaining to the body, it's passions and appetites, not spiritual fleshly, sensual, lustful, impure. The term "CARNAL CHRISTIANS" refers to those who go to church making claims of being born again. Yet, they live their lives based on carnal decisions rather than the leading of the Holy Spirit. Being "SAVED" or "BORN AGAIN" does not take us out of this world. It does not exempt us from having to face the problems that living in this world presents. Every earnest Christian has fought the spiritual warfare waged between the carnal nature land the born again spiriual nature. Even Jesus recognized it's power while in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. The carnal nature has it's power rooted in the lust (unlawful desires) of the flesh. Those who live by the carnal nature are those contaroled by its unholy desires. While every Christian faces this battle, God firmly expects us to be more than a conqueror. God has equipped every Christian with the tools for success. The Christian is undaer a mandate from God to put to death the carnal nature whose desires arise from the lusts of the flesh. While the carnal nature leads to death, having a spiritual mind leads to life and peace. What does it mean to be spiritually minded? It means we are to set our minds to seeking and submitting to the Holy, obey the Lord - not your desire spirit's direction. Paul meant that Christians were to allow the desire of the Spirit to control them. The Christian must set his mind upon the Scriptures that speak about those things and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate His thoughts. Scripture makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is to lead the Christian. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14 Paul also uses the expression walk in the spirit Galatians 5:16 I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Walking is having a steady forword movement. It requires more than an action of the will. Walking in the Spirit requires purpose, strength, circumspection, and vision. He leads those Christians who follow his directions. He leads them into holy living. He leads them into holy service. He leads them into holy prayer. And he leads them into holy worship. SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION The book of Romans tells us what we must do to be saved ... The first thing you must do is realize that no one in the world is righteous (Romans 3:10) You must also understand that everyone has sinned and no one is perfect (Romans 3:23) Everyone sins and no one is free of sin. You must also understand, that it is because of Adam's mistake in the garden of eden... And through this one bad thing he did we now have sin with us All of us have been tempted to sin, and all of us have sinned Even though we all deserve to go to hell, God made a way for us to be spared through his Son He allowed his only Son (Jesus) to come into the world Live a sin free life, and die for us JESUS made the ONLY way for us to have eternal life Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 I beg you therefor, brethren by the mercies of God that ye present yourselves, a living sacarifice holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord! And Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, then you will be saved Romans 12:1-2 Now just say Lord Jesus I believe You and I want You in my life. Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. The new birth is an instant change where the Spirit of man experiences life. It is sudden, it is drastic, it is powerful and it is glorious. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Gone are the old ways, all things are new. these changes take place for the spirit. The mind and the body do not change so fast. We must make the old thought patterns and habits follow the changes Of the new spirit life. How? 1. we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice unto God. This is our reasonable service. This service is to lay our bodies which is now the temple of the Holy Spirit upon the altar of sacrifice. 2. Be not conformed to this world. Conformity is a process of change. To conform is to make of the same form of character, to make like, to bring into harmony, to submit. Presssure brings about this change. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will. - Romans 12:2 The world has many pressure producing tactics. While the Christian is young and pliable we must becareful not to conform to the image or shape of the world. Change is an internal process generated by a powerful working of the Holy Spirit through the renewing of the mind. We must change our minds inthe way we think about life and how we approach the things of life. Reading, meditating and applying the Word under the illuminating influence of the Holy Spirit will renew our minds. GOD's NEWS THIS IS THE JUDGMENT that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. GOD so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have Eternal LIFE. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-19
