ALL  EARTH  JUDGED for SIN

False religion has done more to doom people than any other
single thing by its deception. False religion promises life,
salvation, peace, security, and hope in some king of life
hereafter. This will be the great tragedy of false Babylon,
of false religion in the end time. It will doom people by the
millions, doom them for eternity. This is the reason this
particular chapter is given in Revelation: to warn us about
false religion and to warn us of religious Babylon, the false
religion that is going to sweep the earth in the end time.

Though it is not stated by John, the context locates this
judgment scene as taking place in the middle of the Tribulation
period.  It is a description of the global ecumenical (one world)
religious system powerful enough to gain a controlling influence
in the antichrist's government. There is one thing we must
remember, chapter 17 of Revelation is not in chronological
sequence. Otherwise the one world religion would not have time
to a foothold in the government and all nations.


Revelation is PANORAMA, NOT in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER

Verse  1 and 2
One of the 7 angels approaches John. Remember John is having a
vision of the last days of human history. The angel tells John
"come here, and I will show you the future judgment of false
religion in the earth. Religious Babylon (false religion) is a
great harlot.

In the Bible harlotry stands for false gods, false worship,
false religion, and false devotion. It stand for idolatry.
It stands for worshipping something other than God Himself,
anything or person other than the Lord Jesus Christ. This is
the picture of religious Babylon. It's a false religion that
worships idols. A person commits spiritual harlotry or
prostitution when he follows an earthly religion and its
rituals, ceremonies, and teaching instead of following Jesus
Christ as revealed in the Scriptures. Religious Babylon sits
upon many waters, people and nations. Many races and multitudes
and nations and languages will be caught up in the worship of
this false religion.

Millions will be caught up in the false religion of the end time.
But think about today: think about how many millions are
following a false religion and worshiping idols around the world.
But even closer to home: think how many profess Christ and yet do
not believe or teach Christ and the Word of God.
1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Timothy 3:5, & Isaiah 42:8

This false religion will be supported by the kings of the nations
and governments of the world. This is how the false religion will
gain and maintain power in the end time and become the world-wide
religion. Religious Babylon will entice the people of the earth
to worship the antichrist and his government and secular society.
The leaders of many nations will be convinced that the way to
keep people supporting the government is to lead the people to
worship the government and to look to the government to meet the
needs of society. The government or state will become the god and
man will become the servant.

Here is a thought: How many people prefer to belong to a religion
or church that allows worldliness, that does not teach and preach
separation?





The HARLOT: Revelation Chapter 17:1-6

This false religion will receive its power from the beast,
the antichrist There are three facts here.

1. Religious Babylon sits upon a scarlet colored best. Sitting
means that the false religion is supported by the antichrist and
his government.

2. The scarlet colored beast is the antichrist. It is the
antichrist who is full of names that blaspheme God. This means
that all the heads of governments under his authority blaspheme
and rebel against God. It will not be a religion at all, but will
be the worship of the state.

3. The beast with seven heads and ten horns is the antichrist.
The 7 heads are the 7 nations that will voluntarily surrender to
the control of the antichrist. He will have conquered 3 nations,
(what 3 nations we are not told). The three conquered nations and
7 nations give the antichrist the power of ten horns or nations.
The ten horns refer to ten powerful nations that will be under
his control. He will have the power of the ten nations to support
him in enforcing the state religion. The nations under the
control of the antichrist will be the primary nations preaching
the false religion of Babylon.

Here is a thought: There are many who try to mix religion with
the world. They base their religion and morals upon their
desires, upon what they want to do out in the world. Their
religion is determined by their desires for the world. the world
and its possessions & pleasures are put first, and then whatever
religion is needed to sooth their conscience is accepted.


The HARLOT's Judgment, Revelation 17:1-3

Then one of the 7 angels who had the 7 bowls came and spoke with
me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great
harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth
committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth
were made drunk with the wine of her immorality." And he carried
me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman
sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having 7
heads and ten horns.

4-6 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold
cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her
immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery,
"BABYLON THE GREAT, the MOTHER of HARLOTS and of the ABOMINATIONS
of the EARTH." And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the
saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.
When I saw her,
 I wondered greatly (NAS)
 I wondered with great admiration (kjv)
 I was greatly astonished (NIV)

Revelation 17:7 And the angel said to me, "Why do you wonder?
I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that
carries her, which has the 7 heads and the ten horns."


Verse  4 - A DIRTY CUP

The false religion of the end time will be extremely wealthy.
This is what is meant by the purple and scarlet clothing and the
gold and precious stones and pearls. The false religion of this
end time will be also corrupt. It will offer a cup to help the
people of the world, but the cup is full of abominations and
filth. In other words what the false religion will offer is
idolatry, a corrupt worship. The teachings and doctrines of
false religions are disgusting and repulsive. 2 Peter 2:1-2


Verse  5
And upon her (the false religion) forehead was a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND
ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The name of religious Babylon, false religion, is a mystery.
The fact that false religion is false is not known to all
people. Many do not know that they are worshiping a false
religion. The fact has to be revealed to them. How true this is!
There are millions of people in the world that are worshiping a
false god or a false Christ, a Christ that differs entirely from
the Christ revealed by the Word of God.

Religious Babylon will be the mother of may false religions.
Many false teachings and deception. This tells us who religious
Babylon is.

It goes back to the building of the tower of Babel in the Old
Testament. Under a leader named Nimrod, man decided to build the
ideal state or utopia. Man turned away from God and set out to
make himself secure by building a tower straight up to heaven.
He sought security, provision, and help from other men rather
than from God. They tried to build the idea world without God.
The tower of Babel was the founding of the city of Babylon.
Religious Babylon stand for all the religions that seek heaven
or the perfect life:

1. By their own works and self efforts, their own goodness
and self righteousness. 

2. By rituals and ceremonies, by their own ideas of God and the
worship of God, by their own type of religion, by mans
government and not Gods.

The one difference with the end time religion man's dream for a
one world government and a one world religion will become a
reality.  Matthew 6:33


Verse  6
The religious power and bigotry of this false religion will be
the leader in persecuting and killing numberless multitudes

because they refuse to worship the state and the antichrist.
Many of the martyrs will be followers of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 24:9-10




THIS IS THE JUDGMENT
that the Light has come into the world, 
and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, 
for their deeds were evil.  

GOD so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
Eternal LIFE. For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.


He who believes in Him is not judged;
he who does not believe has been judged already, 
because he has not believed in the name of the only 
begotten Son of God.  John 3:16-19
