I saw this painting of the Gate by Thomas Kincade,
Painter of Light, and was moved to tears. He painted it,
I believe for his friend whose wife had just died of cancer.
She believed in Jesus Christ, Messiah, only begotten
Son of God, so she went to Heaven, through the mist.
He'd see her again one day.
THE GATE
I heard the creak of the opening Gate
And I knew that Heaven would not wait;
The soul was wrapped in a glowing Light
And slipped forever from my sight.
Although the walk was winding and slow
We'd traveled together, here below;
Yet when she'd passed through the Celestial Gate,
I wondered; to grieve? or celebrate?
The rocks were sharp along the road;
I could not bear her heavy load.
Her pain was great, and she longed for Home,
And now - she's left me - all alone.
She's found peace in Heaven above;
Now she knows that Perfect Love.
I shall miss her, til I see
The Gate doors opening again - for me.
THIS IS THE JUDGMENT
that the Light has come into the world,
and men loved the darkness rather than the Light,
for their deeds were evil.
GOD so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
Eternal LIFE. For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
He who believes in Him is not judged;
he who does not believe has been judged already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. John 3:16-19
