As before, I commanded it to calm down, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And as before, it dissipated. Thank you Jesus! Last nite we all spent half hour in our basement as a wall cloud passed over, some tornado touchdowns reported in the area. The storm built rapidly directly overhead, with lightning and thunder. The very atmosphere felt ANGRY. Radar showed NO storms, within 10 minutes we had sirens and tornado warning. Behind the weather: Apocalypse Now, ABC: 500 year floods in Iowa Flooding in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is a historic hydrologic event with unprecedented river crests. About 100 blocks in Cedar Rapids are under water. The swollen river poured over its banks, forcing the evacuation of nearly 4,000 homes. One of the Cedar Rapids levees already has broken. The rest of the levees have not broken down but the water went over a foot over the top of them. A resident said, "We're just kind of at God's mercy right now, so hopefully people that never prayed before this, it might be a good time to start." 500 Year floods in Iowa: Iowa flooding, NBC: A bridge collapsed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with railcars on it. A tornado tore through a Boy Scout camp in Iowa about 6:30pm, killing 4 boy scouts and injuring 48, and setting off a search to reach others in the piles of debris and downed trees. A scout supervisor dug through the wreckage of a collapsed fireplace to reach victims in a building where many scouts sought shelter. All of the buildings are gone, most of the tents are gone, most of the trees are destroyed. The 40 injured were taken to area hospitals, some by helicopter. Eastern Iowa's Cedar River flooded in several of its major cities. Tornadoes in southern Minnesota, eastern Nebraska and Kansas. A line of tornadoes caused widespread damage across central Kansas. A tornado caused significant damage in Manhattan and Kansas State University, tossing cars and destroying several businesses. Wisconsin is monitoring dams, and high water in Indiana burst a levee, flooding a vast stretch of farmland. In Minnesota and North Dakota, strong winds closed a highway and even sent a cow into the air. One TV report said there were 32 twisters.
