July 17 Israeli warplanes flew over Lebanon, Israeli warships were deployed
in Lebanese territorial waters from Naqoura to Tyre. Hizballah new tactics consist
of anti-air missile ambushes against Israeli Air Force recon flights over Lebanon and
C-802 anti-ship missiles against Israel ships off Lebanon shore. Hizballah plans to
shoot down Israeli flights with the help of Iran and Syria.
Hizballah has tasked the Lebanese army with attacking Israeli outposts at the
Shaaba Farms and Mt. Dov. They demanded Israel evacuate its troops from there.
If they dont, then the Lebanese army must go into action.

Pakistan Stocks Plunge
July 17 (Bloomberg) Pakistan investors stormed out of the Karachi Stock
Exchange, smashed windows after the benchmark index fell for a 15th day. Police
surrounded the exchange after hundreds of investors stoned the building. There has
been some mismanagement by the authorities. The benchmark Karachi Index
plunged 35 percent since April 18. One Pakistani said he had lost his life savings.

Schumer blamed in collapse of IndyMac
Federal regulators cited NY Sinator Charles Schumer for a run on the bank.
IndyMac is unlikely to be able to meet continued depositors' demands in the
normal course of business and is therefore unsound. The immediate cause of the
closing was a deposit run that began after a June 26 letter from Senator Charles
Schumer expressing concerns about IndyMac's viability. In the following 11
business days, depositors withdrew more than $1.3 billion from their accounts.

July 9 The recent earthquake in China caused a chain-reaction of explosions
in Sichuan. Chinese military nuclear industries and its largest armory were there.
China did not want spies from the outside world in that area after a nuclear accident.
The explosions destroyed China's largest armory, new weapon test bases and part
of nuclear facilities including several nuclear warheads.
After the earthquake, China ignored the victim's initial calls for help. Only after the
first critical 72 hours had passed was international aid allowed to the disaster region.
2,700 chemical cleanup workers were sent for nuclear chemical emergency rescue.
Villagers reported concrete blocks and soil from the explosion. 'I heard a huge
explosion and saw red substances tens of meters high rising off the mountain.'
A non-geological shock had occurred at the earthquake epicenter. The energy
released was equivalent to that of an underground nuclear explosion. A long valley
had been covered with concrete debris 10-20 inches thick at its bottom as if large
cement blocks were tossed about randomly surrounding the immediate area.

July 15 Japan claims islands in the Sea of Japan, currently controlled
by South Korea in its school textbooks. Seoul Korea recalled its ambassador.

July 12 A volcano erupted with little warning in Alaska, sending residents
