Howse on August 22, 2010 : Do these pastors and Christian leaders not understand that by appearing on stage at this "unique spiritual event" they are sending the message that Biblical Christianity and Mormonism (and any other unbiblical worldview represented) can indeed find spiritual common ground? Christian author Ed Decker who was a Mormon for 20 years of his adult life and was a member of the Melchizedek priesthood, a Temple Mormon and active in many church positions before becoming a Christian has revealed to me such facts as: - Mormons believe the cross of Christ is foolishness and thus you will not find a cross in or on top of a Mormon temple. Thus a Mormon could say "Do not make the pathetic error of 'clinging to the old rugged cross'." - Mormons believe the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross is not what saves and thus Mormons will not use red wine or red juice for communion but they use water. Thus a Mormon could say "A slain Christ has no meaning." - Mormons believe that salvation is not found in placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone but in good works. Thus a Mormon could say "My salvation comes from me." - Mormons believe that God is one of many Gods and that every good Mormon man can become a God himself. This belief is called the law of eternal progression and is best described in this popular Mormon saying, "As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become." Thus a Mormon could say that "The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself." Thus, the difference between the cults and true Christianity comes down to this: Do, Do, Do and more Do vs DONE! LDS church - mormon. Glenn Beck is the ENEMY of Christians! Glenn Beck is a Temple Mormon, they believe WE are deceived. They think WE Evangelical Born Again Christians are apostate. Therefore the Beck phenomenon is part of a subtle attempt to indoctrinate the masses. Satan is the father of all lies, he can and will do whatever it takes to lead us astray. Satan our ENEMY can appear as an angel of light, or a charismatic patriot. Preterism has sometimes been identified as replacement theology. Christians DO NOT replace Jews (Hebrews). We are ADOPTED! Read Romans 9 thru 11 Mormonism is a doctrine of demons, like Islam! How like Satan to call this FALSE cult 'the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints!' It is NOT of Jesus christ and they are not saints! The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4:1 The Cult of Mormonism There are irreconcilable differences between Biblical Christianity and Mormonism. The difference is the difference between eternal life and damnation!! Comparing Christian Doctrine and Mormon FALSE Doctrine, it becomes very obvious that Mormonism does not agree with the 66 books of the Holy Bible, the ONLY written Word of GOD. Mormonism is obviously not the biblical version of Christianity. It is not Christian and Mormons serve a different god than do the Christians, a god that does not exist. The LAST place to find the TRUTH about Mormonism or any other cult is on their own websites! The Mormons even changed their name to the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Mormonism is NOT christian and their Jesus is 'another Jesus' the bible warns us about. YES Mormons are nice people and we agree in many ways! Jehovah Witnesses and the Armstrong bunch (Plain Truth, Trumpet) are similar to Mormons in some ways. There is NO Salvation in those 2 cults. 7th Day Adventists and Roman Catholics are also in grave danger of being too far away from Salvation and too close to damnation. The similarity of some of the errors are parallel. Many call the RCC (Roman Catholic Church) a cult, and they have good reason. Let me quickly say I know some Catholics who may be Christians, but it is because they read and believe and obey their bible, not the RCC. Only Jesus can sort out hearts. For that matter, there are churches within the 'christian' circle where most in pews today I doubt are saved. The Church as a whole is apostate and far from GOD and lost. Luke 13:23-27 Jesus was asked, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them, "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. The Bible and Mormonism Hear, O Israel! The LORD our God is one LORD! Deuteronomy 6:4 and Isaiah 43:10, 44:6, 45:21, Mark 12:29-34 GOD Christians through the ages have believed that there is only one True and Living God and apart from Him there are no other Gods. (Christian means Christ's ones, Believers, followers of the One True GOD of Israel, which would include Abraham, as he believed GOD - and OBEYED HIM. For this study please accept old testament followers of GOD as 'christians.') The Mormon Church teaches that there are many Gods, and that we can become gods. In fact they even teach GOD was once a man! It also teaches that those who achieve godhood will have spirit children who will worship and pray to them, just as we worship and pray to God the Father. Christians believe that God is Spirit. He is not a man, and has always eternally existed as God. Mormonism teaches that God was once a man like us who progressed to become a God and has a body of flesh and bone. Mormonism teaches that God himself has a father and grandfather, etc JESUS Are Jesus and Satan Spirit Brothers? NO!! For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9 It is almost always the LORD JESUS CHRIST where cults take a hard left. The Bible teaches Christians have always believed that Jesus is the unique Son of God. He always existed as God, and is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father. While never less than God, at the appointed time He laid aside the glory He shared with the Father and was made flesh for our Salvation. His incarnation was accomplished through being conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. Mormonism teaches that Jesus Christ is our elder brother who progressed to godhood, having first been procreated as a spirit child by Heavenly Father and a heavenly mother. He was later conceived physically through intercourse between Heavenly Father and the virgin Mary. Mormon doctrine affirms that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. The Bible teaches that The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) are not separate Gods or separate beings, but are distinct Persons within the one Triune Godhead. Throughout the New Testament the Son and the Holy Spirit, as well as the Father are separately identified as and act as God, yet at the same time the Bible teaches that these three are only one God. Christians call GOD the Father, GOD the Son, Jesus, and GOD the Holy Spirit the TRINITY. Mormonism teaches that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are 3 separate Gods. The Joseph Smith Mormons call a prophet was just as demon possessed as the Mohammed Islam calls their prophet. Mormon Doctrine teaches that the Son and Holy Ghost are the literal offspring of Heavenly Father and a celestial wife. SIN Through the fall of Adam and Eve sin entered the world, bringing all human beings under condemnation and death. Thus we are born with a sinful nature, and will be judged for the sins we commit as individuals. Mormonism teaches that Adam's sin was "a necessary step in the plan of life and a great blessing to all of us" Mormonism teaches that eternal life in the presence of God (which it terms "exaltation in the celestial kingdom") must be earned through obedience to all the commands of the Mormon Church, including exclusive Mormon temple rituals. Works are a requirement for salvation Mormonism teaches that Christ's atonement is only a partial basis for worthiness and eternal life, which also requires obedience to all the commands of the Mormon church, including exclusive Mormon temple rituals Only Jesus Christ is Worthy Before God! The Bible teaches the purpose of the atoning work of Christ on the cross was to provide the complete solution for humankind's sin problem. However, those who reject God's grace in this life will have no part in this salvation but are under the judgment of God for eternity. Christianity itself has several beliefs I would put here. Some hold to once saved always saved, also called eternal security. I DO NOT hold to that. Simply believing Jesus is GOD does not save. It is OBEDIENCE to the written Word of GOD which saves. Demons believe! They are not saved because they disobey GOD! Jesus said anyone can be saved - choose to follow Him. Jesus obeyed GOD. The demons believe, and shudder, tremble so that the hairs stand on end. Mormonism teaches that the Bible has been corrupted, is missing many parts and does not contain the fullness of the Gospel Christians believe that the true Church was divinely established by Jesus Christ and will never disappear from the earth. Mormonism teaches that the Christian church is apostate, except for the Mormon Church My personal experience with Mormons I had an email from someone who was told they'd never get a job in Utah because Mormons control that state.
